MATT GREEN & D-FORMED SUBVERSION / FIX / BEYOND... BASE CORRUPT BCORR004

Following up from the third record after a slight delay, London and Birmingham based producers Matt Green and D-Formed return with a nice deep release. Strong snares and deep sub bass compliment the atmospherics nicely. Subversion from D-Formed manages to mix natural sounding drums with a deep moving bass while Fix on the flipside has a darker edge. Beyond Perspectives finishes the EP with a deep vibe, synth hits echo into oblivion.

MATT GREEN & D-FORMED NEGATIVE FEEL / PLAIN COTHES BASE CORRUPT BCORR005

The base.Corrupt camp deliver some strong production on their fifth release, A1 Negative Feel with its build up to a strong bassline and slapping snare moves nicely along. Dub Organisers 88 on the B side drives ahead with moving drums, perfectly crafted strings and melodic hits. Plain Clothes on the B2 is the closer, a deep tune that sits well with the other 2.

F1 & KROMESTAR HARD GRADE / PASS DA SPLIFF DUBSTAR DUBSTAR003

3 TRACKER WOBBLY BASS MONSTER FROM F1 7 KROMESTAR, THESE BOYS SMASHING IT AT THE MOMENT ON THE WOBBLY FRONT!

BALAXX FINE / TIME & MONEY BRUTAL TRAXX BRUTAL002

The second release from Brutal Traxx and this time the pace has been upped with 2 bass heavy tracks from Balaxx! Starting out with dark, ominous synths layered over tough syncopated beats, the first track exudes a feeling that, despite its title, everything is not
going to be fine. Full of distorted, stuttering basslines, deep synths & various different drum grooves ?Fine? is a furious track that?s sure to get the dance floors rocking!
Next up is a deeper affair leaning towards the melodic side of Dubstep. ?Time & Money? is a space-age song with high ethereal synths over a mean, growling bassline. The synths build up as the song progresses and with enough staggers and stabs to keep the song fresh till the very end. This is sure to please the head-nodders and the ravers!

izc SAND / CYMA / OPTOMAGNETIC / ... DUB SQUARE DSQ001

IZC debuts with a four-track EP on his own imprint Dubsquare Records.

Pulsating subbass, stumbling percussion and the metallic snare are the leading elements of Sand (A1), the opening-track of the record. Over constantly mutating rhythmical patterns a ghostly synth-pad comes in from time to time, hovering on top of everything. Cyma (A2) combines elements such as midrange-wobble-skeletons, deranged plastic-reggae-skanks and 80s synthesizer-clouds to a kind of ultra-slow sci-fi-step.

On the flip, Optomagnetic (B1) is probably the most dancefloor-orientated tune on the record, with a rhythm full of verve and a forward pushing bassline combined with melancholic chords and a panorama of dubbed machine-sounds in the background. Sand Robotic
(B2) returns to the opening theme, picks up its elements while exchanging its metallic aggressiveness with synth-pad-melodies charged with machine-romanticism. A robotic voice from the off is fueling boyish technosex-fantasies and radical cyberfeminism alike.
